Cindy Circle loved to go out for a ride in her pink circle car.  It had circle tires, circle headlights, and circle tail lights.  There was just one problem.  It was only big enough for Cindy Circle.  None of the SHAPELS® could go for a ride with her.

“We need a bigger car,” said Otto Oval to Tommy Triangle.  “I hear there is going to be a car show in SHAPELTOWN® this afternoon.  Maybe we can find one for sale.”

On their way to the car show, they passed Ricky Rectangle who was busy feeding his horse.  When Otto Oval told Ricky Rectangle about their plan to buy a bigger car, Ricky told them that he was not interested in cars.  “I can go all over SHAPELTOWN® with my horse Rusty, and I do not have to spend one penny on gas!”

“Well, come with us Ricky.  You can help pick one out,” said Tommy Triangle. “Okay,” said Ricky and off they went.

When they arrived at the car show, Tommy Triangle shouted “Look!  There is a FOR SALE sign on the very first car!”

Otto Oval had a big grin on his face when they got closer.    There were shapes all over the car!  It was the perfect car for the SHAPELS®!  “We’ll take it,” said Otto Oval to the owner of the car.  “Wow,” said Ricky Rectangle.  “Cindy Circle’s car has only CIRCLES, but this car has lots of shapes!”

“I see a big ORANGE oval,” shouted Otto Oval.  Can you find it?  (Answer:  hood of the car)

Then Tommy Triangle found a RED triangle.  (Can you see it?)

“Did you notice that the GREEN door is a square, Tommy?” asked Otto Oval.  “Yes, and there is a large BLUE diamond on the door, and the door handle is a tiny BLACK rectangle!” replied Tommy Triangle.

“Look! I found two more rectangles,” said Ricky – “the windshield and the blue license plate.” Can you see another rectangle in the picture?(Answer: For Sale sign)

“Wait a minute, Ricky,” said Otto Oval.  “You forgot the 4 RED rectangle tail lights on the back of the car.”  “Oops, you are right Otto,” said Ricky Rectangle.

“Let’s see! So far we have found 5 shapes on the new car.  Can you identify them?

“Which one is missing?” asked Otto Oval.

Circle, of course,” said Tommy Triangle.  “I see circle tires and a circle steering wheel.”

When they were done at the car show, Otto Oval said, “Let’s drive over to Cindy Circle’s house and show her the new car!”  “Great idea,” said Ricky Rectangle.  “Let’s go.”

Ricky Rectangle was very excited about the new shape car.  He thought it was really cool, but then he admitted to his friends: “I STILL prefer riding my horse Rusty to a car because I don’t have to spend ONE PENNY on gas!”

“Well, I don’t have to spend ONE PENNY on gas either,” said Cindy Circle.  Ricky Rectangle looked quite puzzled.   “What?  No gas for your PINK circle car?” he said.

“Certainly not!” replied Cindy Circle.  “My car is ELECTRIC!    It does not use ANY GAS at all!  And neither does the new shape car!  It’s electric too.”

“Seriously?” asked Ricky Rectangle.  Then he thought for a moment and said,

Well, I STILL prefer riding my horse Rusty!”

“I knew you were going to say that,” laughed Cindy Circle.  “And…………………

(What else did Ricky Rectangle always say?)

“And I don’t have to spend ONE PENNY on gas!”

It was another good day in SHAPELTOWN®!
