Welcome to the World of Shapels!!!<\/strong><\/h1>\n

As creator of the SHAPELS, I have seen children discover the joy of learning with the help of my characters: Cindy Circle, Suzy Square, Tommy Triangle, Ricky Rectangle, Otto Oval and Debbie Diamond. I have always believed in the creativity of children and the importance of art and music in their lives. The SHAPELS bring a new dimension to \u201cshapes\u201d as a learning tool and act as a guide for children to explore shapes, colors, and numbers through art, music and their own imagination. Whether at home or in the classroom, the characters \u201cbring shapes to life\u201d and make learning \u201cfun.\u201d Children will recognize shapes more easily in their own environment as they become familiar with each SHAPEL character and the individual poems.<\/p>\n

The program is designed to be a foundation for teaching reading, rhyming, math, music, visual\/creative arts, and other important learning concepts for young children. It offers teachers and parents simple ways to heighten student engagement, capture a child\u2019s attention, and build critical thinking skills through creative activities.<\/p>\n

The program encompasses many of the core curriculum requirements needed to meet the standards of preschool\/kindergarten programs in each state. It was the reaction of students, parents, and teachers that inspired me to create the SHAPELS. Parents would tell me stories about how the children were recognizing shapes at home and talking about their \u201cnew shape friends.\u201d It wasn\u2019t my imagination. The characters had definitely made an impression on the children. The program works!<\/p>\n
